Ottery St Mary Tar Barrels

About This Event

One of Devon's most extraordinary and unique traditions. Every year on November 5th flaming tar barrels are hoisted on the shoulders of brave runners and carried through the narrow streets of Ottery St Mary. Thousands turn out to witness this jaw-dropping spectacle.
