Madeira Flower Festival

Funchal's most beautiful annual event, transforming the Madeiran capital with extraordinary flower carpets, vibrant floral parades and the iconic Wall of Hope ceremony. The main parade features thousands of local schoolchildren placing flowers on a mosaic wall, flanked by elaborately decorated floats. The mild island climate ensures perfect conditions for an explosion of azaleas, orchids, bird-of-paradise flowers and dahlias throughout the city.
